Izuku was not alone.
The birds, the insects. They were silent as a grave. Even the wind had stilled, creating a pocket of quiet that unnverved Izuku.
Against the darkness surrounding him, Izuku could see a shine of jade circling his small camp. A scream lodged in his throat, the sound of something heavy pushing through the underbrush. Izuku held himself so still, trying to keep his breathing even. His eyes were wide, slowly adjusting to the dark as he tried to parse what, exactly, he was looking at.

Summary
The project is a well known exam at U.A. It's the one time heroes in training have the choice to be a villain or a hero. And it's the one time Izuku can just let loose and let the voices in his head take over for a little bit despite his better judgment. As much as it a bad idea, he didn't really have a choice. He was picked to be the villain leader after all, and it was just so perfect that Bakugo was picked to lead the heroes. The irony.
If Izuku discovers a few things about himself along the the way, that probably won't change anything. He'll still be a hero once everything was said and done, he'll still be All Might successor. After all, he was on acting. Only acting.
