Summary
When Soap came out to his family, his father had called him a monster. The man spat the words at the gangly 16 year old boy before slamming the door shut, ripping away all that Soap had ever known.
Soap set out to prove the man wrong.
A decade later he returns from a mission covered in viscera and gore. With the lingering feeling of death on his bare hands, he can’t help but wonder if his father was right all along.
He’s lost his home once, and he might lose it again.

Summary
“It means I own that shite little flat of yours, and the little shop you go to every morning to buy fags. I own the drugs you sell, and the money you earn, and that dirty little dogging spot you suck cock at once a week.” John’s tears broke free of their defences and fell heavily down his cheeks. A sob escaped him as a hand that told instantly of the death it had wrought stroked up his throat, and tightened. “And I own you, John MacTavish.”
Or
In search of a fresh start, John has just moved to a new city. This fateful decision leads to his being tangled in a spider’s web of corruption, with Death at its centre.

"They took you from me," Ghost says roughly.
"And you came and got me back," Soap agrees, leaning into the touch. "Knew it was only a matter of time. 'Til ye came fer what's yours."
Ghost's trembling, for a moment, gets worse.
"And are you, Johnny?" he whispers. "Mine?"

Summary
The sun blazes down on Soap’s upturned face, eyes shut tight against the glare that feels like it could melt its way straight to his brain. He’s perched in the passenger seat of a cherry red convertible, top-down, the wind lashing through his hair and shirt like a hurricane. If he dared crack an eye open, he’d see the desert screaming by- crimson cliffs jagged as broken teeth, cacti dotting the land intermittently, and a sky so blue it looks like God Himself painted it with a steady hand. But Soap keeps his eyes shut tight. Freedom’s a cruel tease out here, a mirage shimmering just beyond the next dune. It’s like a window in a prison cell, showing you the world you’ll never touch again. A pity, really. He’s sure Arizona is beautiful this time of year.
“Took you all this way and you won’t even enjoy it properly,” Ghost grumbles, his voice barely cutting through the roar of the engine and the wind’s howl, but Soap hears the irritation plain as day.

Summary
“This is a waste of my goddamn time,” the boss snapped, swinging his fist at Soap’s jaw. Again.
“Really?” Soap spat blood onto the floor, his binds flexing at the motion. “And here I thought we were starting to bond.”
The man’s attention— and his pistol— turned towards Ghost. “Tell me, does he ever shut the fuck up?” It was a bluff, Soap knew it was, but it didn’t stop the smirk from falling off his face. Only realizing his mistake a second too late.
“Oh,” their captor said smugly, gun back at Ghost’s temple as his eyes flicked between the two. “I see. We’ve been going about this all wrong, haven’t we? Let’s try this again…”

After months undercover, all that stood between Soap and freedom was an exit plan. When it goes awry, he and Ghost are left at the mercy of a cartel boss, who’s determined to get his revenge.
With all their time apart, are Soap and Ghost still in-tune enough to escape?
