When she finally turned to him, her eyes locking with his, he feels a rush of heat through his chest.
It wasn’t a normal heat—nothing like the boiling desert sun or summer heatwaves. Not even a heat from a thrill of a chase.
It’s a heat that burns through him like HYDRA’s programming, giving him a hit like he hasn’t had in such a long time.
She had no problem giving the Soldat what he needed, gave orders, made decisions and set goals without much fuss. She gave the security of purpose while the others tiptoed around him like he was the glass that surrounded him. It had the Soldat weak in the knees from those first few moments and he decided he wanted this woman.
Soldat wanted to get closer to Toni—touch, feel, and taste her.

Tony meets him there and when he escapes takes his fellow prisoner with him, thinking bucky is only traumatized by being captured, and unknowingly sort of adopts the Winter Soldier." It ended up being more like Tony escapes while Bucky does all the work, but it's close enough, I hope.

-----------Tony was… well he was cuddly in the morning when he got his coffee. He’d wander in rubbing at his eyes and bump and snuggle into Bucky while Bucky poured him a cup of coffee then usually he’d stand on his toes and kiss Bucky’s cheek before saying, “Thanks for my coffee, Frosty.” and Bucky usually said something eloquent along the lines of “uhhhh yep.” or “well you know, I was standing here.” or one very eloquent morning he’d just stood there and giggled like a dumbass.
But this morning? This morning Bucky had a plan. He had a new catch phrase and awesome posture and a solid wink.
It would be great.

“I am th - Bucky,” he says, the change coming out of his mouth without permission. “I am th-” e Asset, “Bucky. I am Bucky.”
The trigger words are gone, but now there is something in their place - something that only lets him speak as Bucky.
And he is not Bucky Barnes.

Loki is a menace who doesn't take time off for the holidays and there is now an enchanted mistletoe popping up above Tony every time someone gets too close, keeping them stuck until they share a kiss.
Thankfully, the Avengers are an affectionate bunch and any kiss will do, so Tony isn't stressing out about it, really.
Well, except for the part where the one person he really wants to kiss has been avoiding him like the plague, even before the whole mistletoe business. Clearly Tony has ruined his friendship with Bucky somehow and he should just give up on his dumb crush and this is just the worst Christmas ever.
