"We're having a holiday party!"
Athena lit up, hopping into the center of the room. "Yes!"
Apollo instinctively stood up out of his chair, panic filling his chest. "Party? Do you know how much planning that will take??"
"Calm down Polly, I've got most of it worked out already! You just have to show up!" Trucy reached out her hand dramatically, and a split second layer, a piece of paper that was not there before, unfolded dramatically towards him.
"Oh!! Can we have an ugly sweater competition??"
"Good idea!" Trucy snatched the paper back from Apollo, and casually coughed out a pen from her mouth to scribble the note down. And personally, he hated that trick enough not to comment on it in fear she'd do it again.
"How big a party?"
"Like, 14 people."
"14??"
"Look," Trucy showed him the paper again, this time pointing to particular items. "No gifts or anything if you don't want. And we can totally order food. We can even make it an open house so you can leave whenever! All you have to do is show up and scream some Christmas carols." The girl's big puppy dog eyes were searing into him enough to make him reconsider. Well...14 wasn't that big a number...

Miles mulled the thought over in his head. In his experience, for the most part, ever since he was young- there wasn’t more to life than work. His professional life had eclipsed everything else. But now… maybe things could be different, just a little.
