From choosing them to be her favorite color, because he knows how much it means to her. To the tiny forget-me-nots that probably reminded him of the day they first met. Her stomach somersaulted, deep down knowing that the little wild flowers actually meant true love, and respect. Had he known that? She wondered, but not one bit doubted, because he was thoughtful like that.

Claire's stomach plummeted, and the society papers fluttered from her grasp to her lap. Wide-eyed, her mouth dropped open with the elegance of a fish as the realization flooded her. As quickly as the cold had overtaken her with the scandalous accusations, new heat bloomed in its wake. Her fingers tingled, her teeth ached from the clench in her jaw, and her nostrils flared with each deep breath.
"She did not," Claire muttered, "She couldn't have. No, she couldn't possibly be that insane!"
Claire grabbed the pamphlet from her lap and stared it down. The English was plain and the words cutting, but as she studied them, they only became more believable.
"She is!"

It's the day after the wedding. Any hope for a reprieve after the incident with the Duke of Kane are dashed when Lady Whistledown releases a new society paper and sets in motion several realizations for Mike, Julie and their friends and families. Many good, some bad, and as usual, worth gossiping about.
