    The place is trashed. Furniture tipped over. Bottles everywhere. Stuffing spilling from pillows strewn across the floor. Scratches in the paint. Vash's attention lodges on the opposite wall, where a vaguely man-shaped dent has been slammed into the plaster. The Glass Rose credit line might not be enough to cover this.

    Above the dent, there's another, smaller hole. The height and shape of it are a little too familiar. Too close to be anything but Vash's prosthetic.

    Maybe that's why it feels strange. He shrugs the arm up, examining its fingers with half-lidded eyes. Definitely flecks of plaster lodged in some of the joints, but that's not where his focus sticks.

    There's a gold band. On his ring finger.

    After traveling for a week-straight in the van across never ending sprawls of desert, the team tumbles across a rundown, dingy town. While the place is awkward and quiet, there's a bar, there's alcohol, and there's an inn with beds, so Nicholas can't really complain. He can make it work...

    Though, when he realizes that quite literally everyone knows exactly who Vash the Stampede is or, rather, what he's worth, they're instead forced to fight for their lives to escape the crazed people there.
