Asking for help is admitting defeat. It’s a belief that is ingrained in Regina Mills's mind. It shows weakness as much as love does - that’s what her mother used to say. And Emma’s words might not have been phrased as a question, but something trickles down her spine in a pavlovian reaction as she suppresses the urge to curl her lip in a snarl.
They need her. And, god forbid that she’ll ever say it out loud, she needs them. The thrown-together rescue party that’s searching for her son in this overgrown fantasy forest.She hates it.

Follow Regina's point of view, explore her thoughts and feelings and exhaustion as she struggles with everything that has happened to her right before their trip to Neverland in this canon-compliant fic. Read how she warms up to Emma, with known and beloved scenes expanded, explained, deepened and twisted into submission. Oh, and with new scenes because the Neverland arc deserved so much more, plus an entirely new ending because the original ending was just dumb.

Regina is a problem. Emma would very much like to crash into her, because she’s nothing if not consistent.

Run it out.” Emma must pull a face at that one, because she laughs and continues, “Pin his face to a dummy and throw some darts. Go out into the woods and throw some fireballs. Or, better yet.” She pauses, and waits until Emma’s eyes flicker back to her own before she continues. “Fuck somebody.”

Sure, they’re trapped overnight in an IKEA. Sure, that’s not ideal.
Had driving all the way out here been Emma’s idea? Yeah. Had she known there would be snow? Yeah – not this bad, of course. And yeah, maybe she should have listened to Regina and they should have stayed closer to home.
But at least IKEA has a food court, and all the beds they could ask for, so really, Emma thinks, she’s done them a favor overall.
Regina, on the other hand, doesn’t seem to agree.

She can't sit there and watch Regina marry Robin when all that she wants is to be the one in his place, just like she is now. This is torture, plain and simple, and Emma can't take it.
She lets go of Regina's hands, taking a step backward, ready to run for it, but Tink's voice cuts through and stops her.
"Ah, just one more thing, Emma. We still need to practice the binding."
