Luffy takes a bow and hands the mic to Franky. As he walks through the crowd, strangers give him high fives and back pats and a girl with glossy black hair winks at him. He’s scanning the crowd for his friends when his eyes catch on the tall, dark figure leaning on the door marked “Employees Only.” He’s wearing a grey t-shirt; the tips of his tattoos peek out from under the sleeves. His belt, his black jeans, and his sneakers are all perfectly faded and worn-in. His expression is bored, with a faint undertone of amusement.
“Straw Hat,” he calls out. “Come take a break with me.”

Summary
The Thousand Sunny has more in common with a Cancún party boat than it does with his beloved Polar Tang. It’s much bigger, for one, and full of ridiculous luxuries. Anyone can charter it, from scientists like Law to rich tourists who want to gawk at sea lions, so it makes sense that it’s nice, but come on—it has a hot tub, for fuck’s sake.
Ok, so the food is great. They have a proper chef who does mind-melting things with fresh fish and serves Law coffee every morning in a tiny French press. He can grudgingly admit their research equipment is top-notch, and he has a room to himself with his own shower.
The Sunny has almost everything—except peace and quiet.
