Kaito would make sure of it. But when Kaitou KID, his composure must be kept. He must disregard the words that cut through him like an icy-knife. Shall not speak ill of his opponent. As KID, he must stare into the bitter brown eyes and smile, pretend they are old friends reuniting over tea. Hold the facade until he finds a way to escape; hold out; don’t let this bastard know who has the winning hand.

The smell of charred flesh was nothing new to Shadow. Uncommon, perhaps, but not foreign. Which in many ways made Shadow nervous; he could only recall a handful of times where he ever encountered burning flesh, but this smell struck at something deeper. In some respects, Shadow was terrified of what he could have encountered to leave such an impression.
Though, surely, he was more terrified by the way his mouth watered at the stench.
