Summary
He's found a near-mint copy of Damning Dreams, Dreadful Dimensions, and Other Delphic Dalliances, a handbook he's heard a decent amount about. This'll likely be his purchase for the night, he ponders, testing its spine and opening its cover to skim the foreword.
"Are you happy?" Ray suddenly asks.
Egon opens his mouth to answer yes, without much thought, then pauses. He lifts his head, glancing over at him.
Ray doesn't look up, staring intently at his desk with a frown, brow furrowed with his conflict. Thunder roars outside in firm punctuation.
Briefly rained-in during a visit to the still-new Ray's Occult, Egon and Ray chat about the not-so-distant past, the hesitant present, and the uncertain future. Takes place in the time-skip between GB and GBII.

Summary
Before that fateful night, it would roam its room in the off-hours, in those minutes between recharges. If it moves swiftly enough, it can hear air glide off its fiber-enforced plastic carapace, occasionally slipping through intentionally designed gaps to whistle and clear the stagnant, lukewarm atmosphere within its diaphragm.
It wonders to itself if its compartment was made to hold and cherish children the same way its paws are carefully sculpted, rounded to hold their delicate fleshy hands, the same way its eyelids are able to swivel at different angles to simulate emotive responses, the same way its load-bearing joints are prepared and built to bear its own weight and that of others.
But then it would shake itself from its reverie because it would know if it was, would it not? One of the Pizzaplex's employees would have notified it. It would be detailed within its programming. No other animatronics were meant for that kind of interaction, not even the others, who are all upgraded with various technology it isn't.
It is a compartment for goodies, not for children.
