Summary
And really, Rusty should just deck him. Wants to deck him like Hawkins asked him to, wants to snap that O’Keeffe’s the one who set this whole thing in motion seven fucking days ago when he muttered some cryptic shit that he knew would stick in Rusty’s brain, borrowing his recon vehicle and dragging him all the way out to the coast to tell him whatever the hell he wants so badly to tell him. But that’s also not how the game goes. Calling O’Keeffe out is the same as tapping out, and Rusty's never quit something once he's started.
(Good for shooting. Bad for smoking.)

Summary
He's gotten better at offering himself at the altar of Freud's obsession, wading into the shallows just far enough to clear his head and walk away after. But the deeper pool is always there, right in his reach, waiting for him to throw himself in the frigid darkness and never come back up. He'd fallen down it once. That was after Island Four, when Freud killed everyone but him, and kept him in a snare of gin and sex that made every day feel like the same day lived on repeat.
Now the deja vu is gone but he still can't stomach the drink. And he's still kneeling at that altar, aching and more than a little pathetic, but at least Freud has reason to make sure he doesn't drown at it. He's still got work to do.
That is, if that's why Freud keeps him around at all.

Summary
Snail keeps 621 to himself in AREC: tugs on their ligaments and synapses in a choice they assemble out of some combination of vengeance-sadism-entitlement, the precise ratio of which they don't care to measure. Not until Pater arrives to offer — force, really — a place within the Vespers, rubber stamped by Freud himself.
By the time they take the sum of Snail's secrecy they're already too deeply embroiled in the addictive feedback loop of Coral combat high and Freud's relentless pursuit to do anything about it. They realise too late that what Snail was hiding and what Pater was gambling on are the same thing: that they and Freud are the same kind of animal.
And it'll probably kill them, but it feels too good to stop.

Summary
621 joins the Vespers for drinks. Rusty isn't about to pass up an opportunity to learn more about them — even if it means ripping open O'Keeffe's old wounds and reviving a decades-dead chip on Freud's shoulder.
Or: Rusty and 621 flirt obnoxiously over a game of pool, then fuck.

Summary
621 tries to explain that all this has happened/will happen/was happening, that every second they spend on Rubicon is a second in triplicate: that Coral tears their mind into three versions of the scorched planet that they live out all at once. Everything singular happened decades before: one job at Schneider Aeronautics Labs. One release form to undergo human augmentation. One Raven escaped extinction during the Island Four Disturbance, downed and frozen years before — one Raven to become a Hound.

O'Keeffe has had more paymasters than birthdays. He still manages to keep the ratio of burying his enemies and allies 2:1— it used to be better, but then, so did he. After six decades in intelligence the question isn't who he works for but who he doesn't. And underneath that: what he actually believes in.

Summary
Once, Schneider was an independent aeronautics lab on the screaming edge of AC development, and its Vogelwerke engineers wrote AMS modules that could make nitinol sing. No surprise, then, that every one of them would go on to become augmentation candidates — including 621, who entered augmentation surgery and woke up missing two limbs and thirty years of their life.

Love like a butcher, love like a meat hook by GodOfBeasts

Summary
Love like the butcher’s hungry eyes that were never sated, that had already seen enough meat to be disgusted by it, yet his hands work all the same, lining the cuts, planning around missing flesh, preparing iron ovens for the meat to be cooked in for someone else, donning a suit that separates him from every inch of its reddish surface in order not to be infected by its filth.
AN: surprisingly enough i've never watched hannibal but i believe in their beliefs etc. eroticism of the meat and so on. takes place in the context of a liberator playthrough

Tuco doesn’t regret trying to kill him. He’d do it all the same if he had the chance, except he’d get the water to Bill Carson a minute sooner, he supposes.
