They held all of his kindness and grace, cunning and cleverness, his brightness and delectable wit, his lethality and ruthlessness. His love for Lambert, in the way they glowed, the skin crinkling at the corners, only when he looked at him. Never anyone else.

    They also held his madness.

    Those same beautiful, lovely eyes, could also turn dangerous in the way of the insane. No less terrifying, no matter how many times Lambert saw that deranged glint take hold.
