The stairwell is chilly and quiet. Neither speaks and Dunk’s heart pounds in his ears. He wonders if Lyonel can hear it, echoing off the cold, dark stone. Up and up they go, higher into the tower. and Dunk wonders if they’re going to the roof so Lyonel can throw him off into the sea. He wonders if it would hurt to hit the waves, or if he would die on impact. Were I a bird or a fish, this would not be a problem, as I would just fly or swim away. Were Egg a dragon, he would catch me.

Summary
Ser Duncan's side is chosen by a man who will one day be King. It is Baelor's downfall and his resurrection. A soul bond forms during the melee at Ashford and tethers Baelor to the land of the living, to Duncan, and Maekar must decide whether to break or bend the knee.
Baelor forces the issue when he asks Maekar to foster his claim on Duncan in his stead as he recovers.

Summary
Dunk of Flea Bottom, an omega and a lowly squire, had always dreamed of being a great knight of the seven kingdoms. When he misunderstands his Ser’s dying words, it’s exactly what he sets out to do.
However, after growing fond of the child he picks up in an end and makes his squire, his path takes a much darker turn than he anticipated.
Lyonel Baratheon is just too smitten with this large pretty omega to let something like a dragon stand in his way of happiness.
(A retelling of the show that is somewhat darker but with a much happier outcome. Baelor lives. Lyonel gets his cookie. Dunk gets the man and gets to be as maternal to Egg as he likes because I say it so.)

Summary
The petals fell cradled by the gentle hand of the breeze until they rested on the faded stone floor, blackened by a thousand feet. Baelor observed them mutely, his brow creased faintly. The tips of his fingers grazed them carefully, as if doubting their existence, but the softness of their touch left no doubt. They were as real as the discomfort he had felt in his throat all morning, until at last he reached into his mouth and pulled them out.
Hanahaki disease: a fatal illness where a person coughs up flowers that grow in their lungs due to unrequited love. Baelor falls sickly in love with a man who escapes him at every turn.
