Summary
Zuko is just trying to survive Boiling Rock prison. He didn't make it out on time on the Day of Black Sun and frankly, he's lucky to be alive. His escape attempts have proven futile and he doesn't have any allies to speak of here. His best bet is keeping his head down and trying to survive.
Sokka is just here to break his dad out. It's his fault his dad was captured and he needs to fix this. His plan is working well enough so far; he's made it here, he's disguised as a guard, no one suspects him, now he just has to find his dad and get out.
Blue eyes meet gold. A flash of recognition. Shit just got a whole lot more complicated.

She blinks, the familiarity of the name hums in her bones as she stares at him. But then, she snaps herself out of her stupor by mentally shaking her head, realising she's been standing there looking like an idiot that Zuko probably thinks she's being weird.
But, he doesn't seem to notice as he blinks at her too.
So, she takes the initiative to offer her hand towards him, letting a smile grace her face. "Nice to meet you."

Summary
Defeating the Fire Lord did not end the war. After Ozai is liberated from the Avatar's custody, he returned to Caldera and retakes his throne. Katara escapes. Zuko is captured by his father.
The White Lotus brings everyone to Ba Sing Se to plan their next move. Iroh gives Sokka a special assignment - rescuing his nephew.

The Gaang accepts Zuko's offer to take him as their prisoner. Though he is their captive, they have no intention of harming him. However, one thing that people need to survive is oxygen, which becomes quite a hard thing to acquire if you're trapped in an airtight space.

Summary
Zuko knelt before his father on the day of Ozai's coronation and said, "I am your loyal servant. I do not fear being burned."
Zuko remembers, vividly, bowing before the court, bowing before his father, and wishing he could say something else. Something like, I will honor you, or respect you, or even obey you.
He wishes there was some other way to prove loyalty, some other way to prove love.
He wishes he could have said something true, but he has always, always feared being burned.

After escaping the Boiling Rock, Zuko and Hakoda have a discussion about duty, loyalty, and love.
