Summary
Charles Smith considered himself many things. Quiet. Intelligent. Dependable to a fault. Occasionally, unintentionally rude. One thing he had never considered himself — physically or otherwise — was weak. Life had trained him too well for that. It had taught him the practiced motions of endurance, the reflexive bracing of the spine before impact, the careful distance one learned to keep from people, places, and hope itself. Complacency was a luxury. Attachment was a liability. When you lived a life as dangerous and unsettled as his, grief was not a question of if, but when — and it was easier not to invite it in at all.
All in all, Charles knew he was strong.
What he did not know — what sat heavy and unanswered in his chest — was whether that strength would be enough to carry the body of a man he cared for deeply down from a mountain.
(Post-Canon fix-it of what could have been if Arthur actually didn’t die on the mountain)

Summary
The maroon silk scarf transcended its softness onto the rough man wrapped in it. Its delicateness bringing out the tenderness that the man tried his best to hide, that was ripped from him at an early age. But here, in a warm hotel room, lightened by just the subtle fire that the candles provided, the two could leave the anger and sorrow behind, instead embrace in love and vulnerability.
or 5k words of pure porn and love ;)

Summary
Arthur is a siren - the kind that sailors sing songs about and wish to never encounter. He's hungry for flesh and lures in a sailor that he's not able to devour, being too entranced by the handsome stranger.
Charles lives through the horrors as a sea monster seems to have set its eyes on him. He's haunted by flashes of blue and sharp claws, unable not to think about the night he fell overboard.
--
Arthur exhaled slowly and drew in a big breath. He hummed in a low voice, letting the resonation of his gills tune in with his glow. He could be louder. He could be brighter. Setting the trap was always awkward at first, but once Arthur got into it, luring the prey was rewarding — in multiple ways.
