    Instead of Starscream being the well-known and feared Second-In-Command of the Decepticons, he’s practically an urban legend among Autobots and Decepticons alike, only known through vague prisoner-of-war stories and scattered attributions of battle plans and weapon designs. Most mecha are of the opinion that this “Starscream” is a mere myth to make Megatron look more menacing, and others (notably the Autobot spec-ops) often make jokes about ‘Spooky Screamer’ whenever a particularly strange case pops up.

    This changes when Jazz and his team uncover an abandoned Decepticon laboratory on Earth, only to find a dying seekerlet locked in its depths.

    And thus, Starscream is no longer a myth.

    Some awful, twisting feeling in his internals makes him choke down purge, which– What? That doesn’t feel like fear, fear feels like quivering wings and too bright optics and spinning spark. This feels like the, the traitor has the phase shifter and he’s rooting around in his midsection, like he’s tugging at something. His tank lurches– He watches as a huge section of wall is demolished and he hears a triumphant chorus of roars– He shrieks as he loses consciousness, overwhelmed by all encompassing agony–

    Starscream has slag luck—more than perhaps treachery and scheming, he's known for his complete and utter lack of lucky breaks. So imagine his surprise when he's scrambling to evade fiery, painful death in the maws of three rather incensed Predacons one minute and staring a dead mech in the face the next.

    Sam Witwicky and ancient relics had never exactly had the most stable of... err, relationships, for lack of a better word. To be specific, Cybertronian relics. To be even more specific, Sam Witwicky, Matrixes and the Primes.
    After accomplishing what he first thought would be a suicide mission, Sam was whisked away to Cybertron, in a new frame, with new abilities, an old friend/pain in the aft stuck in his head, and a mission to save a world before doomed to destruction and death.
    How saving and raising the sparkling, youngling and mechling selves of former allies, family and sworn enemies is supposed to do that, he has no idea. Well, at least they're cute.

    Hey, no no no, don't touch that!
    His children are going to deactivate him before any mysterious great evil ever gets the chance!
