This story is never abandoned, but it lives in the back of my mind because - truly - the story is completed. This is only a bonus.

“There’s a body in the garden.”
The words were spoken calmly, while Bucky kept his eyes locked onto the gangly form prostrate in the dirt outside. When he’d spotted it in a casual pass of the window, he’d experienced shock for all of half a second before he’d quickly transitioned into acceptance and wariness.
He stepped back from the window as Steve rushed up, a damp blue dish towel in his hands. Steve’s eyes immediately narrowed in on the form that was face down by the tomato plants. It was a good sign that Bucky wasn’t hallucinating, and a bad sign in that it meant the corpse in the garden was real.
Steve gave Bucky a look, the corners of his mouth sternly downturned.
“I didn’t put it there,” Bucky said, just in case that was in question.

A mostly-dead Loki shows up face-planted in Bucky’s garden one day while Steve’s over for lunch. (Throws Infinity War/Endgame deaths and other parts of canon out the window.)

Summary
Finnesang, the main work, explores an alternate history from Thor 1, with Odin preventing the disruption to Thor's coronation. Sometime thereafter, his raven Muninn is killed and the old king begins to suffer from memory loss, leading to complications in the lives of his surviving family and the unraveling of the carefully-constructed reality he'd created to protect them.
Other works included here aren't necessary for understanding the main story, nor is the main story necessary for understanding them, but they are complementary and explore unifying themes and ideas.
Lokabrenna, a prequel, is a self-contained story about Loki's relationship with both parents, as their bond changes as he ages and experiences his first major loss.

Summary
Loki takes the Tesseract to Thanos immediately after Surtur, and doesn't leave the Titan's grasp. Thor is relieved, and horrified, when, some months later, the Guardians find his brother alive...but not whole. As she finally decides to flee Asgard and return to her homeland of Vanaheim, Odin returns from the war carrying the infant son of his enemy, Laufey.
However, no child will ever replace Balder.
