What could possibly make up for it all. When Liu Qingge's mere existence was like a curse on Shen Jiu. It was as if it were impossible for them to live at the same time. As if the affection they secretly held for one another was an affront to the god's, to the natural order of things. The candle in the cave was snuffed out, the sword in Liu Qingge's hand had been dropped.

Liu Qingge is in Ling Xi Caves, he's woken up after his body qi deviated. He realizes something isn't right, but he can't remember anything. After being made to piece everything together, Liu Qingge is devastated, and he's forced to face the reality of his doomed relationship with Shen Qingqiu.

Or what if Gongyi Xiao never came to rescue Shen Qingqiu from the Water Prison? What if Shen Qingqiu had stayed there for a couple of weeks instead? And, of course, the Huan Hua Palace track record when it comes to prisoners is pretty bad.
Basically just an excuse to write some hurt Shen Qingqiu.
