It’s a beautiful, perfect night, yet Rose’s chest tightens like she’s going to suffocate from fresh air.
“Rose Landry.” Rozanov’s voice is deep and quiet, rumbling across the pavement like one of his infamous sports cars, accent curling around the “r’s” in her name like a snake. He tilts his head to her, a facsimile of a nod.
Rose nods back—what else is she supposed to do in this situation? “Ilya Rozanov.”
Rozanov’s lips twitch. “Ah, you know me, yes?”
“Hard not to,” Rose responds. “Your reputation precedes you. And you seem to know me.”
“Hard to miss posters. You look very...blue and naked in them.”
