It could be really fun if they end up accidentally foiling a villain's scheme in the course of the night, in the style of one of the Alex Rider spinoff short stories.

“What, you don’t have shit for first aid at home?” And even though Eddie’s lilting voice was sort of joking, he looked straight through Steve in a way that made Steve suddenly certain that Eddie was not going to let this go.
Steve let out a broken laugh and rested his head back against the car door, closing his eyes again instead of imagining what it might be like to live in a house that wasn’t completely haunted. He considered just blowing it off and ignoring Eddie, but he was already trying to ignore the methodic dripping from one of the cuts on his chest that had split open earlier. It wouldn’t stop sticking everywhere and it felt like a goddamn nightmare on top of the dried blood that wouldn’t stop flaking off his skin.
“No way, Munson. Not a chance in hell.”

And some snarling, angry part of Jamie wants to rip his fucking head off for even suggesting that... but some other part of him is really fucking scared right now, and thinks Sam might be right.
