Summary
Shadow’s spines involuntarily flared up. Slowly, as to not make any unnecessary noise, he leaned toward the headboard of his bed, still refusing to take his eyes off the door. He slipped his paw underneath his mass of pillows and reached blindly until his fingers brushed against something hard. His paw closed around the hilt of the knife and brought it close to his chest as he carefully tossed his sketchbook and pencil to the side.
It was probably nothing, his sensitive hearing sometimes played tricks on him, after all. Auditory hallucinations. It wasn’t anything new. He must’ve imagined the noise and was freaking himself out for nothing.
…Which meant it would be perfectly safe for him to go out and check anyway.

It had been nice. It had been so nice. The lights, the music, the drinks. But now she just felt like shit. She needed something to take the edge off. She wanted to feel better again. She needed another bottle.
And wasn’t that just terrifying?
Not bread, coffee, or any of those other fake “get sober quick” hacks on the internet could’ve sobered her up quicker than that little thought. It felt like being plunged into freezing water, allowing a moment of clarity.
She had been doing so well.

Summary
Shadow brought his arm to his chest to balance the fruit in his paw but, upon feeling wetness, just as quickly pulled it away, as if it burned. He glanced down to see sticky juice stains in his thick fur, the red uncomfortably visible on his white chest fluff.
“Ffffuck,” he hissed, gripping the fruit a little tighter. A few more seeds fled from their prison and onto the floor with their brethren. He quickly placed the pomegranate back onto the counter, using every bit of self restraint not to slam it down in anger, mentally berating himself.
God. Fucking. Dammit.

Shadow doesn’t know how to open a pomegranate and Rouge is there to laugh at him.
