“I think I could make you come untouched,” Shane said unprompted one morning, as casually as one would regale their dinner plans that evening.
“I don’t want you in my ass, Hollander,” Ilya replied bluntly once he’d gotten his bearings, and Shane furrowed his brow.
“Not like that,” Shane had said, leaning in and unknowingly emphasizing the light flush already forming on his cheeks. “With hypnosis. I think I could make you come with just my words.”
Ilya scoffed at him; his immediate thought was that it wouldn’t work. Even when he agreed to their regular relaxing sessions, taking on a sultry edge, he had his doubts. Now, meeting Shane’s confident gaze and already feeling the effects of his gentle voice guiding Ilya towards an altered state of consciousness, his doubts were quiet. All his thoughts had grown syrupy and hard to reach.

“What makes him your best client?” Kip asks.
“He’s nice, his dog is well behaved, the apartment is insane, and he has a very set schedule. It’s not a daily gig, it’s kind of random. You have to stay at his place in the Upper West Side a few times a week, but again, the apartment is amazing. He’s some kind of athlete? So the schedule is also nuts. But he gives, like, six months of dates in advance.” Maria answers.
A set schedule of dates works for Kip, who is, these days, trying to make his own schedule.
“And,” Maria smiles wide, “I think you’ll like him.”
That beatific expression will come back to him, five days later, when he meets Scott Hunter for the first time.

Summary
Refusing to let Ilya ruin his career by signing with Ottawa, Shane chooses to really give their relationship a try and moves to Boston to live with Ilya and become a Raider. What follows is enough public scrutiny and backlash from his team that it has him questioning if he made the right decision. Until moments with Ilya and the Raiders show him exactly why he chose correctly.

Hayden’s eyes flickered to Shane as he sat on the bench, chewing on the edge of his mouth guard.
“Don’t fucking look at him,” Ilya insisted as he bent down for the faceoff.
“Excuse me?” Hayden mumbled, eyes darting back to him.
“You heard me,” he retorted, his tone clipped. “He’s not your teammate anymore; he’s mine. If you think Marlow is a problem to your game, wait until you see what I will do to your team if you hurt anyone on mine again.”
Hayden scoffed, dipping his head as he tried to focus on the game. Something about Ilya’s words still rang through his head though, sounding so definitive that he didn’t want to risk seeing what he was actually referring to when he said that.
The puck dropped again, and Ilya stole it before he could comprehend how quickly it happened.
