It was a typical day in No Man’s Land, and Millions Knives was just starting to finish banging out some tunes on the piano.
His hands flew across the keys, notes climbing as the music crescendoed into a climax-
Honk.
The melody died a sudden, painful, mangled death as Knives froze.
He turned around.
“Honk”, honked a goose, in the middle of his chamber. Inexplicably alive and real, on a planet barren of all life except for Worms, thomas, Plants, and the last dregs of humanity.
The goose seemed to be judging him, on a spiritual level.
Knives blinked.
The goose was still there.
“Honk!”
“What the fuck-”

Summary
The first kick to his senses is a literal one- Meryl’s tiny foot connecting to his shin that obnoxiously is nowhere near the threshold of pain that he can handle, but stings enough to cause his entire being to jolt the way bullets don’t.
“What was that for?” Wolfwood asks, as if he doesn’t already know. He knows. The guilt will devour him from the inside out later but he knows why she kicked him. Honestly surprised she doesn’t go for another one. Surprised she doesn’t go for Roberto’s derringer and try to go at him with her tiny self and even tinier gun.
Meryl doesn’t do any of that. She does something worse.
She says, “I’m so disappointed in you.” And she means it.

Or: Trigun Stampede where Knives wins and successfully manages to make a new generation of Independents and mind wipes Vash for a good while. Problem is that he has no idea how to raise infants and nobody close to him should be trusted with the care of a functioning and capable adult, let alone a squalling infant.
Nobody, except for Nicholas the Punisher.

Summary
Miracle on Gunsmoke! When the beloved angel Vash the Stampede visits the poor and downtrodden, hope follows in his wake. His mission may save humanity or destroy it, but only one thing is certain: that he's the most obnoxious brother of all time.
Meanwhile, travelling physician Millions Knives just wants to atone for his past by saving lives and taking care of his brother once and for all. Life would be a lot easier if he could just kill off the female reporters and bratty priest dragging him around, but apparently murder was bad or something. It's going to be a long road to July.
