As they are reborn, those who died find each other again, and their bodies are marked with symbols to indicate their connection and that fill in their memories so they remember who they once were.
Noctis is covered with marks now. However, he notices a great hole in his memory of his last life and searches to fill in that space and whatever mark comes with it...

Summary
Prompto has lived a lonely existence, kept to his rooms in his step-parents' home in the Galahd desert and never allowed to see the outside world or anyone other than servants. That all changes suddenly, when Prompto is left orphaned and with no family but for a step-uncle, living across the sea in the broad fields of Lucis.
Prompto is taken to a whole new world and discovers that his new home holds many secrets and mysteries, hidden behind locked doors, wailing winds, and the sealed lips of the other people who live and work there. However, as he learns more, he finds that he wants to bring some of the secrets into the light, and right some old wrongs done to the people he's come to care about.
His fate -- and the fate of the other boys he soon comes to care about -- becomes entwined with one special secret garden.
