Or, when Victor makes his assumptions about the nature of the Creature's request for a companion, instead of remaining silent, the Creature speaks up. This puts their first confrontation after the fire on a different path.

In Mayo, Tom takes Cain and Terry to mass each Sunday. Every. Sunday. Cain has never learned so much about the Bible in his entire life. And he’s never been more confused about religion either. Tommy takes him to mass and they sit together, and sometimes when Tom goes up to receive communion he puts Terry on Cain’s lap. And Cain is sure that the little old ladies who coo over Terry’s curls and her pretty Sunday dresses know that they’re together. Starscream won't behave. Megatron revokes his interfacing privileges. Or, Megatron confiscates Starscream's dick and uses it to fuck Skywarp.
