Summary
Two snippets that might've been separate or might've been connected, I don't remember. I'm never going to finish them unless someone else would like me to, but they were good enough for me to think, "hey maybe I should share these."
The first segment involves unnamed hydra scientists in Germany, rather than the Soviet Union, doing a wee bit of open brain surgery on Bucky. The word they use to refer to him is just "asset" again but in German. Their goal is connecting his shiny new arm to his stinky old brain and making it move when he thinks of moving it.
The second segment is made of multiple pieces from an AU I was working on where Bucky not only survives the fall in the alps, but is also recovered by the army just in time to watch Steve go down in a plane instead! The fact it made me so sad may have been a small part of why I never completed it lol. Steve is only mentioned by name once in this tho and he's not relevant at all.

Summary
Bucky blinks herself awake through blood-encrusted eyelashes to watch the woman with wings descend upon her, and can only think, she's an angel. She’s an angel coming to take me home.
It can't be true, though, because there is no universe in which Bucky Barnes would be going to heaven.
Then the woman barrels through the air like a grenade, crashing unceremoniously to the ground with a thump, and Bucky thinks, yeah, no, not an angel.
(Or: Sam's got this thing that attracts her to dangerous things, and Bucky is a very dangerous thing.)

Tenna blinked, not expecting the question. “Oh! Uh, I suppose it depends… it’s, er…” He laughed awkwardly again, rubbing the back of his neck. “A bit of a sensitive area? So doing it myself can be difficult. It’s not all that complicated, though.”
“You don’t say.” Spamton’s eyes glinted, and he placed his empty glass on the table with a soft clink. “You know, Ant, I could help you out with it, if you’d like. You could say I’m… familiar with the CRT instruction manual.”
Tenna stiffened completely, hand frozen on the back of his neck. There was- there was no way Spamton was really suggesting that, was he? He must’ve misheard him.

The distant speakers buzz; a wayward blip of high-pitched feedback scrapes against his sensors. ”THE KING OF ONLY—” booms from the main stage, his recorded voice ringing over sharp, compacted brass. ”He’s GROOVY…”
Tenna hisses again, the voiceover reverberating in his case. He’s aware of the glitches in the tape, alright? He’s aware of them. They’re charming. They’re being dealt with. The glitches are all being dealt with; he’s dealing with one right now.

Summary
"Wow, you weren't kidding, huh? You really have been a good boy." His tone is light and airy, but the gleam in Spamton's eyes is unmissable. Tenna lets out a slight huff, flustered and irritated. I bet this is great for him, he thinks. He must feel so special, knowing he's the only one to see me like this.
Tenna's hand reaches over to wrap around Spamton's back, almost unconciously. It's a stupid gesture; Spamton normally never tolerates this kind of touch, but this time he leans into his grasp shakily, a lazy smile spreading across his face. It's... different now somehow.
Spamton runs his thumb along the edge of Tenna's face. "I have a few ideas, if you'd like to hear."
This is stupid. Things can still go back to normal if you put an end to whatever this is right now. Don't do it.
"I think..." Tenna starts, voice trembling slightly. "I think you should show me instead."

Tenna's supposed work dinner quickly gets out of hand. He has very complicated feelings about it.
