Summary
...spending the remainder of his life as a dog seems as good an idea as any. His bright idea was to get caught by the dog warden and tossed into a shelter. They’d look after him, keep him fed and watered and dry, even if it was probably inevitable they’d put him down in a few weeks. Maybe he’d turn back into a human briefly enough to escape and then repeat the process.
Izzy can shapeshift into a dog. He uses it to avoid his problems, but winds up creating a whole bunch more.

Summary
"So, yeah, now we're trying to look after him. Please give him a little patience, he's earned it, I think."
After the kraken is seemingly killed, the ship drifts aimlessly for a week before the Gentleman Pirate makes his triumphant return. Nobody can believe what has been happening aboard The Revenge in their absence; but more unbelievable is the way that their old friends have rallied around the insufferable Izzy Hands.
While the crew are at odds over whether their tyrannical first mate is deserving of sympathy or blame, Izzy retreats to his cabin and stays there. In pain, desperately unhappy and broken down by Blackbeard, Izzy just can't bring himself to try to return to pirate life.
After all, Izzy knows what becomes of old dogs who have lost their bite.

Lucius knows that Ed is cheating on Stede with Izzy. Unfortunately he's known for a while now. But he couldn't possibly tell Stede. It would break his sad, naïve, middle-aged heart. But he has to tell him right? It's the good, noble thing to do. And Lucius is a good person. At least that’s what he tells himself.
His train of thought stops as Stede walks past with a big smile on his face. He waves at him to cover his involuntary grimace.He'll tell him tomorrow. Yep, tomorrow. He'll definitely tell him tomorrow.
Or: Stede’s in a loving committed relationship with both Edward and Izzy. But someone should have probably told the crew because they’ve got the wrong idea.

Summary
For nearly 400 years, the world has suffered under the overarching rule of the Old Gods - cosmic beings who treat humanity as their own personal toys. In Victorian London, Blackbeards Crew has failed in another assassination attempt of the Emperor of the British Empire, the God who rules through Queen Victoria.
Meanwhile in Dorset, the household of the Bonnet family needs a new staff. The household suffers under a tense, cold atmosphere, as Alma's thirteenth birthday draw nearer.
Ed uses this opportunity to escape London. And, by bringing the 2 groups together, he brings forth secrets that have long been kept buried, and allows himself, Izzy and Stede to find a relationship that will shape not only themselves and their crew, but also the future.

The last thing Izzy remembered was getting shot and dying, quite painfully. At least he was pretty certain he remembered that happening. So when he woke back up on the deck of the Revenge he was all but convinced he'd landed in his own personal hell.
___________________________Or, Izzy gets flung back in time after dying, becuase what better way for the universe to say "fuck you" than to make him relive all his worst days aboard Bonnets ship. The crew hate him at present. And damn it all, he can't even blame them for it.
But maybe things can go differently this time.
Fuck Bonnet and his fucking "talk it through" philosophy, look at him! He's grown a conscience! And all that's ever done for Izzy is get him Dead!
