Summary
Shane Hollander doesn't fight.
Doesn't, however, does not mean can't.
Too mad no one told Tanner Gagnon that.

Summary
Of course Steve was born on Christmas. It’s like the universe aligned perfectly for his parents to forget his existence. He tells Eddie about years of forgotten birthdays spent alone, then he starts to apologize because it’s too much, but Eddie stops him with a certain intensity that he gets sometimes.
“Well, starting right now, fuck that. When do you want your birthday to be?”
Steve chuckles half-heartedly, tries to brush it off, “What? Eddie, c’mon, it’s not a big deal, dude.”
“No, seriously. When do you want your birthday to be, Steve?”
Or, Steve’s never really had a birthday, so Eddie gives him one.

Summary
Later, he’ll blame it all on a momentary lapse of judgement.
He’ll blame it on the loneliness maybe—on the fact that, despite never having been physically closer to Shane this consistently in his entire life—that despite regularly getting dinner with Shane’s parents—that despite finally having found what he’d spend his entire life searching for he’s also, somehow, never felt more alone.
He’ll blame it on Cliff not texting him back since he’d signed with Ottawa. He’ll blame it on Sveta, face pulled into a perpetual frown during every facetime call.
Or maybe he’ll blame it on Anya—sweet, beautiful Anya—who’d been just a little too cute not to share.

Summary
Via Marc Desjardins
When asked about support systems for Hollander following his trade to Ottawa, Pike appeared to begin saying "Shane's—" before abruptly stopping himself and substituting "Shane's rival, Rozanov," in reference to the well-documented on-ice rivalry between Hollander and Boston captain Ilya Rozanov.
The 30-year-old defenseman then launched into what observers are calling an "increasingly frantic" explanation of the Hollander-Rozanov rivalry, complete with nervous laughter and visible perspiration.
"I was going to say Rozanov," Pike insisted when pressed on the awkward pause. "Obviously. Since we were just playing Boston last week, and Shane always—he's very focused on beating Boston. Because of the rivalry. The hockey rivalry. That they have. In hockey."
Where Hayden says something he didn't mean to, and chaos ensues.
