A woman stood behind the boy.
"Now... I know you didn't let me come here after all this time, just to ignore me." The woman carefully stepped forward, a shake to her voice like she had finally done something that she had tried before, but failed many times at, and a desperate attempt had finally succeeded.
The teen did not respond. In fact, it would almost seem as if he hadn't even noticed her, if his legs had not stilled in their swinging since her arrival.
Or, Michael is the Vengeful Spirit, intent on keeping William and himself trapped in torment forever. Unfortunately for him, his mother doesn't believe it's his responsibility, and she comes to bring her son home.
