Summary
After moving to Tokyo together over a year ago, 'Hikaru' and Yoshiki are finally settling into their new life together. With Yoshiki in college and 'Hikaru' working, both of them are growing and learning rapidly as the city wraps around them. But the things they were taught in their small-minded hometown aren't easily forgotten. There are important words and feelings unspoken between them, yet neither is willing to risk breaking the fragile bond they each cherish. The risk is too high.
And so, they try to live as humans are meant to, attempting to keep the lid on Pandora's box closed just a little bit longer.
But one day, exactly one week before the cherry blossom trees are set to bloom, 'Hikaru' comes across a tiny book of poetry hiding on the lowest shelf in a bookstore. It's cover is blood red and gives him a strange sense of unease.
'If I read this, I think it will change me...' He thinks, but he doesn't know why.
In spite of that subconscious warning, he picks up the book and takes it home, underestimating the upheaval it will cause.
The first chapter of this is a rewrite of the original fic by the same name. All poems used in this fic are my own.

Summary

Summary
Five years following the end of Maruki's reality, and five years since Goro Akechi had last seen Ren Amamiya, the former detective prince is now a real detective at a small yet accredited agency. He's been living in limbo all this time, unable to forgive himself yet unable to die. All he does is work his job and miserably hope that one day something might miraculously change for the better. On a seemingly ordinary day, his boss tells him about a new case they've taken on. Their client claims to be an insider within the biggest prostitution ring in Tokyo, and they are hiring the agency to investigate why prostitutes have been going missing following a strange pattern. Akechi heads out to interview their new client, completely unaware that his fate would soon be decided by the reappearance of a trickster from his memories.

Yoshiki didn't like playing Hide-and-Seek.
The summer's heat would hit against his skin, wetting his clothes and making them sticky. And thorn bushes would scratch up his legs as he crouched.
He didn't like the tension. It felt like nails rotating in his stomach; bile would threaten to rise from his esophagus for every single second he waited. His knees would shake, and his heart would bang against his ribcage in a way that almost hurt.
--------Or Hide and Seek, and the horrifyingly satisfying ordeal of being forced into something you want.

Hell wants Hikaru. But Yoshiki is not willing to let him go.
When Yoshiki Tsujinaka hears voices calling his name as he leaves his college campus one night, the last thing he expects is to have his ass saved from demons by his best friend, Hikaru Indou. But Hikaru is not the same as he once was. He's faster, stronger, a lot more of a crybaby… and he's a vampire. Turns out, Tokyo overlaps with the underworld, the world of the demons, and that world is calling out to Hikaru Indou. Though his memories of his life are a blur, one memory remained, and it called out to Hikaru a lot louder than hell every could. Despite the fact that Hikaru is supposed to be in hell and Yoshiki attracts demons who want to consume his soul, the two of them are bound to each other—and it does not take long for the underworld to notice.
When the world threatens to tear them apart, they might just have to go to hell and back to stay together.
