    Shota sneers at the teenager across from him. His defense raises like the hairs on the back of his neck as he glares steadily, ready and waiting for whatever will come from this encounter. He narrows his gaze when the teen shifts; just the thought of sharing this rooftop with Japan's most notorious villain makes his skin prickle. “Deku.”

    “Y-yes!” the teenager cries out in relief, taking a small step towards Shota, “I’m Deku! I’m so g-glad you—”

    “Deku,” Shota growls darkly, flicking out his capture weapon hastily to snag the villain before he can make his move. He's quick to tug it taut, leaving no room for Deku to escape. “You’re under arrest.”

    “I-I’m what?! W-wait!”

    tl;dr

    Hero Course student Izuku comes to the realization that he is definitely not where he's supposed to be.

    Update as of 12.29.2025: This fic is on a momentary hiatus while I work on another project, once the first chapter of that is done and I'm happy with it I'll return to this fic and have the next chapter out within a week. I also won't upload that other project nor work on it any further until this fic is at least on chapter ten. I hope to be back to this fic soon, but I won't guarantee any date because I don't have one.

    So cute, this is the first fic i read where hitoshi isnt adopted by dadzawa/yamadad lol, def nice change cuz i needed inko content, i like the unfolding of event esp w shinsous fears like he doesnt stay too scared of them for too long where it gets boring/frustrating
    As of chapter21 shinsou barely realizes he likes izu non platonically so maybe in the 1shot or new multi chapter addition in the future thatll happen XD

    The fusion system isnt like steven universe, this ones more complicated and more fleshed out in ways i dont know or understand, Aaaa i wish i knew how to hack to get the author their old srvr back w the system explained lol

    I SHOULD CHECK THEIR DISCORD SRVR (chap19) THO WHEN I GET ON MY LAPTOP, fingers crossed its not abandoned or rushed through, im willing to wait 7years if it means the story and its ending is well thought out <<3

    Izuku rubs his neck the same way now, and beneath the thin veneer of smiles and nervousness is true uncertainty. He’s putting himself out there. Trying to open up.

    “Sure, Izuku. I’ll keep you in check.”

    That blinding smile he gets makes the anxiety he will no doubt suffer worth it.
