Summary
A lot of his dad's stories were about a beautiful wizard saving a prince from a tall, lonely tower. His dad had a whole series of adventures they went on once the prince was rescued. Though he still seemed to get into plenty of trouble, the wizard always helped him escape. Finding out the stories were true had been thrilling. His mother did save his father when they first met, but she hadn't used spells. She was an alien. She was a superhero.
And one day, Mark would be too.

Debbie knew that her son was not like others when the silence followed him. Mark Grayson didn't understand the world, he didn't understand the feelings within him that lurked since birth, and he didn't understand William Clockwell. Even when he would be the quiet kid, when he would utilise his powers for things that would make people feel revulsion if they ever found out, he realised more and more how he needed William when he grew older.
It was true that the world didn't make sense, but William helped him to understand. That was all that Mark needed, and the rest of the world could burn.

In the glory of the Viltrum empire, there is a huge, aching hollow that conducts rage and electricity through him. On every billboard screen are a few dead pixels where his face skews as it looms over him, parroting back his own voice, his own insipid, juvenile, bullshit dogma. In his father’s truth was Mark’s truth, the real truth.
Over the three days of the Invincible War, Target Mark goes sliding down the drain.

Summary
Dying and waking up as a half-breed Viltrumite is- alright, kinda wild. You'll give it that. Love the powers, not so keen on the failing empire with frankly, not the best planning skills.
And the wanton murder and conquering. Also...bad.
So clearly the answer is to fake your death, join Team Earth, and give the main character of your favourite comic some time to adjust to another Viltrumite being around, before you get all stategic and shit.
He definitely won't do something stupid like abscond from the planet to save alien bugs. Definitely won't leave you to become a PR nightmare of a superhero in his absence, and stir the pot of your brand of crazy with the lack of satisfying action.
