Summary
When the world ended, they already knew how to survive; they’d been doing it their whole lives. It wasn’t a skill; it was a choice.
Merle and Daryl Dixon lived hard, fought harder, and trusted almost no one. Hari and Isha Carter survived by being invisible, planning ahead, speaking little, and never letting their guard down. Together, the four of them built a quiet life in a Georgia garage long before the world collapsed.
Now the dead walk, but they aren’t the only monsters out there. At the quarry, when survivors from Atlanta settle in, the Dixons and the Carters become the outsiders: too quiet, too armed, too unusual to be trusted. As lies spread and alliances fracture, the people who’ve kept everyone alive are branded the threat. They will have to decide what survival really costs, and how much truth they can afford to keep hidden.
When new faces arrive, including the twins’ uncle and cousin, the pressure tightens. The group that became theirs by default is beginning to mistake cruelty for leadership and fear for righteousness. The real danger isn’t the walkers anymore.
