Summary
“Get that BP cuff back on him.” Buck can’t hide the panic in his voice. “And call the goddamn medics!”
“Medic?” The older woman materializes at his side and points a finger at him with a confused look.
“EMT!” Buck nearly shouts. “No medic! Help medic!”
Ravi races to plug the cuff into the monitor. His senses flood with a harsh cascade of beeping and flashing.
Think Buck.
Think.

“You know, you can have some too if you want.”
“Hmmm?” Eddie doesn’t trust his tongue right now. Best he can do is twist his brows and pull his lips into a thin, questioning line.
“Eyeliner! It’ll go perfect with your whole” he swirls his hands in Eddie’s general direction “thing.”
-OR-
Buck wears eyeliner for Halloween. He offers some to Eddie, but can’t find the right angle. They end up on the couch.

Summary
“I’ve had a chance to go through files from the past couple of years, and I found one that seemed to be… misplaced?” Her fingers settle over a manila envelope with “December 18th, 2018” scratched into the corner in Bobby’s boxy handwriting.
“Okay? And what trouble did I get into 6 years ago?” Buck tilts his head to get a better look at the envelope.
“I’m afraid your disclosure paperwork was never filed with the LAFD. It’s all filled out, minus the signatures, and it found its way to the bottom of the bottom drawer."
"Disclosure with who?"
-OR- Bobby filled out the paperwork years ago.

Summary
Eddie doesn’t even look up as he settles himself, a crushed box of Marlboro Reds between them. Buck reaches for them, slaps the bottom of the carton on the butt of his hand and pulls an orange filter between his teeth. He leans toward Eddie, who’s already holding a lighter to the end of his cig. Eddie’s knuckles shine in the moonlight and flame, red smeared across his right hand.

Summary
Eddie sits up so fast his head spins. “Is he okay?”
“Eddie,” she exhales his name. “It’s not Buck–it’s–it’s–,” her choked back tears muffled with static.
“Maddie?” Eddie’s feet find the carpet.
“It’s Bobby,” Maddie lets the floodgates open. There’s no question in his mind. He’s heard sobs like those before. He’s had sobs like those before. Bobby Nash is dead.

Summary
Eddie should have said no. Eddie should have said, I’m fine, I can handle rain, I’ve handled worse, because that was what he always did. He didn’t make choices that felt selfish, especially not for something soft like… this.
This new thing between them that still felt like a secret he carried under his skin, warm and bright. Instead, Eddie heard himself say, “Hen’s not going.”
Buck’s eyes went wide with triumph.
“See?” he whispered dramatically, like they were in on a conspiracy. “Hen said cuddle day.”
“That’s not what she—”
OR Buck just wants to cuddle with his new boyfriend.

Summary
"I'm really glad you came back,” Buck said. “You and Chris."
Were they standing too close? Since when had they been standing so close?
“We wouldn’t have been able to stay away long. Who would have made us pancakes?” Eddie joked as he tried to get his heart to crawl back down his throat and behave.
Buck huffed. “Is that all I am to you? A pancake wench?”
“Don’t sell yourself short,” Eddie grinned. “You can wench a lot more than pancakes.”
“I don’t think that’s how you’re supposed to use that word.”
or

Summary
“Eddie, you can’t just give up.”
“I’m not giving up.”
Buck turns and points an accusing carrot at him. “You are. You’re doing that self-punishment thing where you think that because you messed up before you don’t deserve to try again. Which is stupid.”
“Every relationship I’ve ever had has been a disaster,” Eddie says, sounding angry, but not at Buck. “I never do any of it right. I’ve never done a single part of it right.”
“Eds, I know it feels that way, but when you find the right girlfri-”
“I don't want another girlfriend Buck!” Eddie yells.
Or
Buck remains determined to find Eddie the love of his life.
