Writing this for an anon fic request based on the au that Phillatos on tumblr came up with. Transgender Patroclus and Achilles with prosthetic limbs. It's a modern au drabble from them meeting to after they've been married a while with lots of fluff.

Summary
Achilles turned to me, his long locks of blonde hair sat on his shoulders. "Is this what you want? If not we can go back. But I think...I think I prefer it here with you." His vibrant green eyes held so much sincerity it made me want to cry, he held my hands in his, calloused fingers running over my knuckles. I gave it thought. I wanted to be with Achilles, wherever he may be, I wanted Achilles happy and healthy. That's all I wanted. Phthia wasn't home, neither was the kingdom I was banished from. I was an exile but with Achilles, I felt at home. Wherever Achilles wishes to be I will follow.
"Yes. I wish to be here as well." His smile was dazzling, joyful as he pulled me into a hug. His cheek rested against my own, his lips hovering close to my ear. He was warm and smelled of the oils he used for his feet and it made my insides buzz. My hands fisted into his tunic, wrinkling the fabric but Achilles would not care. My nose brushed his collar bone, muscles tensing beneath me as he crushed me into a hug.
"Thank you," He whispered, but he'd never sounded louder to me.
"There is no need to thank me," I replied, I was honest.

Summary
Whenever they kissed, Patroclus felt invincible. Even his fear of Thetis was forgotten - he was a new man.
Perhaps it was this that caused him to slip, the feeling that Achilles would always catch him. But down he fell, submerged in the freezing river.
