Doesn't really matter now that the portal activated and everyone in the room (including the people that were trying to kill you) got sucked into it. Sending you all in space and maybe time too, who knows but there's no time to think act fast or die, oh also you hit your head hard and its bleeding.

Oh, yeah, there definitely was. You remember some word of riots - people trying to get inside and get to some sort of cure. It was one of the last stories on the news.
What was it called? Electric Science? Lightning…?
You scrape the back of your mind for the name of the elusive corporation.
Thunder. Thunder Science Inc.
You feel some sort of pride in the fact that you remembered some company that you paid maybe half a second's worth of attention five years ago. Well, it's safe to assume that Thunder Science wasn't very successful with their findings.
Maybe you could explore that, and get super virus immunity or something.

Summary
I've been doing my best. The apocalypse sucks, but if I'm negative and mopey all the time, that's more likely to screw me over. Besides, I have all the basics I would need. Food, water, shelter, the essentials. I'm sure everything will be alright. The virus didn't make, like, zombies or whatever, and there wasn't all-out nuclear war that I have to worry about. I just need to provide for myself, stay out of trouble, and maybe make some new friends. It'll be fine. I'll be fine.
Actually, one thing that's been standing out to me is that tower off in the distance. The lights are still on, even when the city around it is completely destroyed. Might be a good idea to swing by there. I'm sure it's got plenty of stuff to loot.

Summary
In another alternate universe similar to the timeline of changed but the pale virus pandemic never happened. But TSC still developed the latex beast and it escapes throughout the world. The story start with 4 mercenaries character, Anton Ravzolski the commander, Petrov Simalno the Medic, Sokolov Vanichkin and Katya Andreas. They are working as a private military company and were hired by Russia to be sent to a major TSC's facilities to retrive data, pictures, documents and the TSC-X14 latex neutralizer. Which was made in very small quantities.
Will they make it out fully or not? Who knows.
