One of my favorite aspects of Silksong is the way the history of the Citadel is narrated through various scraps of text left behind in the form of Psalm Cylinders, Choral Commandments, and other objects discovered on fallen husks. In an absolutely pitch-perfect writing style that could have been lifted from the game's own files, this story conveys the tragedy of the Citadel's downfall in the form of a loosely connected series of fragments. Impeccably crafted and deeply chilling.

A lovely and well-observed vignette that artistically captures everything I love about the character relationships in Final Fantasy XII; namely, a subtle tenderness that reveals itself in small moments. This is a masterful piece of writing that reveals in miniature what the game itself suggests through broad strokes.
