    “Oh, sure! So, technically, we need to deny any wrongdoing, accept full responsibility, blame it on an external force, negotiate peace with aliens, assassinate their Queen, propose a diplomatic alliance, and—get this—start a space war with Tamaran. Totally doable.”

    There was a beat of silence.

    “…Wait, I got it!” Spoiler cut in. “What if we combined Plan 26, Phase 4 with Plan 98, Phase 2?”

    Signal squinted. “Wouldn’t work. Queen Industries stock is too high. A coup in Khandaq?”

    Nightwing shot back, “ Black Adam’s speeches are terrible.”

    Red Hood scrolled. “How about a sex scandal? International—”

    “No,” Nightwing interrupted. “Last time, Zatanna’s rabbits were a nightmare.”

    Red Hood sighed. “So, our best options are: fake Wonder Woman’s death, Hal and Aquaman’s wedding, a Lobo-Queen of England sex scandal, resurrect Harvey Dent’s father to turn him good again, or... I take over the family business.” He turned to the group. “Any takers?”

    The League just stared.

    “…You people are insane,” Flash muttered.

    Superman is spotted visiting Wayne Manor, prompting speculation about how exactly he knows Bruce Wayne. To protect their secret identities, they need a plausible explanation and it seems easy enough to go along with the tabloid theory that they’re sleeping together. All they have to do is pretend to be in a relationship until the speculation dies down and then they can break up move on.

     

    Or: Superman fake-dates Bruce Wayne, we all know how this ends.

    Nine months. Nine months Bruce has been seeing Clark, and shit, maybe Alfred is right. Maybe this is the longest relationship he's ever had.

    It's just that he's had so many, it's gotten a little hard to keep track.
