"I—" Eddie starts, then stops. "I have a tattoo."
Steve closes the space that Eddie put between them, reaching for Eddie's right arm and lifting it up to get a better look.
"Holy shit! You do!" Steve mock-gasps, looking away from his arm to Eddie’s face. “And I hate to break it to you, but I'd say you've got at least two on this bad boy." He slaps Eddie’s forearm lightly, the span of his fingers and palm covering at least four little patchwork tattoos.
"Ha ha, sweetheart. You got me." His sarcasm would be a lot more cutting if Eddie wasn't still wearing the ‘breakfast-in-bed followed by morning-sex’ smile. "But, I've got another one. On my chest…one you might not like.”
“God, please tell me you don’t have a tattoo of—"
Eddie cuts him off. “Yup. That’s exactly what I’m telling you.”

“Steve?” The guy asks, and Steve can just nod. He holds out a hand, but drops it back to his side when Steve doesn’t move to shake it. He cocks his head, smile still in place. “I’m Eddie, your emergency spider specialist.”
Steve still doesn’t say anything. Just watches as the guy—Eddie—rocks back on his heels.
Eddie clears his throat. “So…where is the little guy?”
That finally shocks the words out of him. “He’s not little!”

(Steve moves to a new city and on his first night, he spots a giant spider above his bed. He doesn’t know anyone nearby who can come deal with it for him, so he opens Tinder and swipes right on everyone, copy pasting the same message to every match.

“He wasn’t flirting with me, Robin. He was being nice. We’re neighbors.” Steve attempted to walk back towards his office, but Robin boxed him in. “Denial isn’t a good look on you, Steve.”

See, Steve didn’t mind much at all. Eddie wasn’t necessarily the type that he went for normally… and not because he’s a man.
