He imagines it sometimes: the queen flipping through a portfolio, looking at the headshots of children from across Lucis; reading the carefully compiled family histories and political ties; picking out her own favorites from the candidate pool, lifting their names to the top. He imagines that she smiled when she saw his dossier, when she saw that they’d been born in the same region. He imagines that, if she’d lived, the queen would have taken an interest in him; she might have written letters to him, might have given him an allowance; she might have said, This one. I want this one for my son.
The queen died, though, so Ignis will never know what she thought of him—or if she thought of him at all.

“I’m not sure I’d taste very good,” Izuku laughs and Katsuki gets a glimpse of the backs of white teeth and is nearly positive that he would in fact taste very, very good, “too stringy.”
You look pretty delicious to me is what Katsuki wants to say, but instead he just grunts noncommittally, holding tight to the last of his razor-thin self-control in an attempt to not conform to the stereotypes of his kind and consume this sunshine whole.

Inko wakes up a few times with hazy nightmares of bruises and grinding bones. Hisashi sleeps soundly. She stares at the wall and thinks of the child she’s still keeping a secret, thinks about their future with a trapped mother and a father who wouldn’t think twice about ending a life. Her friends have disappeared. The boy who'd flirted with her is dead. Hisashi's right in the middle of it, with that smile that says he'd do it all again in a heartbeat.
She can’t let her baby end up like that. She can’t watch an innocent mind be warped into the person that Hisashi must be. It’ll be hard, raising a kid on her own. She hasn’t even gone to a doctor yet to make sure her pregnancy’s going okay. “Either I give up everything I have,” she says, hand resting on her belly. “Or I let Hisashi ruin my baby forever.”
(The choice is easy, in the end. She picks her child.)

Summary
The boy straightens up. He’s about half a head shorter than Katsuki, face soft and youthful and sweet. He turns to look at him properly. His dark hair shines in the dying light, basket of blooms looped over one arm and mouth quirked into a tiny half-smile. The sun hits his face and makes his eyes a bright greeny-gold, just like emeralds.
Katsuki likes emeralds.
“Pretty,” he says, reaching out and picking the stranger up around the middle. He’s surprisingly heavy, although Katsuki doesn’t mind. “I like you. Come see my nest.”
The boy hits him.
He’s stronger than he looks, turns out. Katsuki drops him and falls onto his back, pain blooming across his face. Birds sing. The sky’s a lovely shade of orange, clouds floating lazily by. The boy scarpers. He leaves his basket of flowers behind, footsteps thumping on the ground and fading away as he escapes.
The sun sets. Katsuki, lying flat on his back with a bloody nose, decides he’s just fallen in love.

Summary
Katsuki remembers it, vaguely; they’d gone out for patrol and immediately gotten mobbed by Uwabami’s rabid fans. Some guy asked for a hug. He had most of his face covered, and he wouldn’t let go even though Uwabami kept telling him to stop. Yaoyorozu had seen it and Katsuki had stepped in, yanking him off Uwabami but the guy grabbed him instead and-
“Wait,” he says as his brain catches up with his ears. “What?”
“He tried to attack Uwabami,” says Kestrel patiently. “But you and Bakugou got in the way and-”
“Me and Bakugou?” says Katsuki, digging his ears. “I’m Bakugou.”
(Katsuki and Momo get bodyswapped during their internship. It's terrible. Partly because of the weird new jiggly bits, but mostly because Momo now has to deal with Katsuki's giant, nauseating crush on Izuku Midoriya.
And Katsuki, unfortunately, has to deal with fucking Todoroki.)

Alright. Maybe his idiot friends had a point, Katsuki thinks as he shoulders open the front door. His mother’s in the living room drinking coffee. Katsuki kicks off his shoes and stomps over. “Am I charming?” he demands, blocking the TV.
Mitsuki pats his cheek. “Oh, hon. Not at all.”
He goes upstairs. The bed makes a pomf noise as he faceplants into it. He needs a date for the sake of his pride, but there has to be a guarantee he won’t get rejected. Gossip travels and he’s not inconspicuous. He can already see the future headlines. Exposé : Bakusatsuo, failure at prom.
He sighs and rolls over. “Fine,” he says to the All Might poster next to his bed. “I’m not showing up to that dance alone. We’ll go with plan B.”

Summary
Last night, they went to bed in their dorms.
This morning, they woke up in either A) an abandoned building, B) unfamiliar apartments with unfamiliar school uniforms, C) a plush bedroom nicer than their entire house... or D) the League of Villains' headquarters, because of COURSE Izuku still manages to draw the shortest straw even when others are screwed over too.
UA tries its best to prepare its students for anything, but one topic it never covered: what to do if you wake up in an alternate dimension. Six students suddenly find themselves in an unfamiliar world where the balance between Heroes and Villains is more unstable than ever and they have no idea how they got there or to get home. All they know is that this world is horribly wrong, and they're largely on their own. (Well, except Izuku, but he thinks he'd prefer that.)

Shinsou remains cold and withdrawn in the face of Midoriya’s friendliness—until they’re kidnapped by a woman with a brainwashing quirk who believes Shinsou doesn’t belong in the hero course.)
