This is an absolutely beautiful story. I keep coming back to reread it. Love the chemistry between Sonic and Shadow and love the way the story progresses. An absolutely beautiful read every time.

Summary
Donnie collided with Leo in a tangle of limbs. There was an instinctive cling in return from his twin, before the realization sunk in.
"No." Leo breathed in his ear, immediately shattered. "No, no, no, no, no!”
Every muscle in Donnie's body was shaking like an earthquake from the amount of effort he'd just expended. The explosion caught up to them, sending the twins spiralling away into space and debris.
For one singular moment, Donnie allowed himself a burst of victory. His heart was still thudding a thousand miles an hour in his chest, having been absolutely terrified he wasn't going to make it in time. But he did. And he held onto Leo, his prize.
Then they hit the ground, the sudden tumble bursting them apart. Donnie felt the world spin, rapid and disorientating, before he slammed into something rock and cracking under his impact.

Summary
At no point in the accidental usurpation of Thorin as leader of The Company and the quest for Erebor, did Bilbo intend for this to turn into an exploration of cultural differences (and something that almost feels like group therapy). For some reason, the Dwarrows aren't complaining, and Bilbo isn't going to question it, as long as the lumoxes behave themselves and do as they're told.
Who knows, they all might yet survive this insane journey.
(Or, where Bilbo decides the Dwarves are all too stupid for him to endure this ridiculousness anymore and Does It Hobbit and the Dwarves suddenly get affectionate.)
*Please note, within this story there are mentions of the underage rape and subsequent pregnancy of an off-screen character. Mentions are brief in chapter 2, and a little more in depth chapter 4. The mission was meant to be a simple one, the ninja would stop the bad guys, and then Jay could go take a nap or play video games or something. But clearly, nothing could ever be simple when the entire universe had it out for him.
It was just some dumb robbery, and no one knew exactly how wrong things could go. But hey, at least Jay finally finds a purpose! (Even if that purpose dooms him, in the end. But it doesn't matter, because Jay would do anything for his family.)

Agent Walker tenses a little bit, he tilts his head and smiles. “Truthfully?” He asks, sitting up straighter and looking at Arin, keeping his friendly gaze. “You remind me of someone I think I used to know.”

Arin accidentally has a breakdown in some poor guys office, this guy seems weirdly familiar, though, and tries doing everything he can to help. Similarly, Agent Walker sees some poor kid have a meltdown in his office, and tries to help because he keeps being reminded of some kid in a black hoodie with blond hair.

a fic about all my favorite characters and their dynamics. Lloyd, Arin, and Jay. (yes, lloyd does have a role in this fic, though its towards the end.)
