    Summary

It began with small, innocent touches that would paint his cheeks pink, but Baelor never noticed. How could he? The prince was generous and warm. He meant nothing by it, and it was Dunk who made it into an issue. It would have been easy to ignore, only that Duncan was also made to undress him, help him to his bath, and lift his naked boy from the copper tub, all while the tips of his ears flamed hotly and his eyes desperately looked anywhere but at the prince's bare body. He had a duty to care, to protect, and Duncan would see to it, even when Baelor's needs, brought by injuries that Duncan was to blame for, dragged him down an increasingly uncomfortable and strange path.

Duncan is asked to fulfill his vow to Prince Baelor as his caretaker at Ashford, while the Prince is recovering from his wounds. He slowly comes to find that the honour-bound relationship with his sworn liege Lord is not what he had innocently dreamed of once.

    Summary

Maekar departed the castle before the second day’s jousting, driven by the need to hunt down his two wayward sons. "Keep an eye on that damn Aerion," he warned, "lest he find a way to trouble you." A dull ache throbbed at the base of Baelor’s skull—a familiar harbinger of impending misfortune. Despite the warning, he sought out Aerion for a word, and the prince pledged, with practiced ease, to cause no trouble at all.
What is done is done; the rest remains for the gods to judge.

    Summary

They have thrown the man into the patch of light. He wears dark clothes. Plain. No rings. He has a beard, dark hair. He is in pain, eyes shut tight with it. He's beautiful, or maybe it's been too long since Dunk saw another human who wasn't about to punch him for him to judge beauty properly. Dunk crouches down, touches his shoulder gently. He'd ask if the man was alright, but he isn't.

“My name's Dunk,” he says quietly instead, still touching the man. “There's a loose stone, three up from the ground, and there's a rat that's good to talk to. Sorry you're here.”

When Ser Arlan fights for the Crown at Starpike Castle, his squire, Dunk, manages to get himself thrown in a cell by Lord Peake's men. He might have lost track of the days, but he knows one thing: his cellmate is worth protecting with everything he has.

    Summary

“Has Aerion repeated his… advances?” Baelor asks carefully.

    “Well, he—The prince is…”

“Like a whore desperate for some coin.”

    “Stubborn.” Ser Duncan finishes, wide-eyed.

“That too, I suppose,” Baelor says wryly. “I don’t need to tell you to pay him no mind, do I?”

“No,” The knight denies vehemently. “I won’t disappoint you like that, Your Grace.”

A pause, after which Baelor hears himself ask as though he’s outside of his body, listening in. He regrets the words as soon as they come out of his mouth. “And if you hadn’t pledged yourself to me?”

Ser Duncan looks caught, his blush darkening high up in his cheeks. “I have no business doing that with a prince.”

“And if he wasn’t one?” He presses.

    “I don’t know. Aerion is hateful, but—pretty.”

“Yes, I suppose so.” Baelor sighs. Aerion is pretty. It’s everything he hides behind that which makes him ugly.

“You are very handsome as well, Your Grace.” Ser Duncan is quick to reassure him, nodding seriously.

Inevitably charmed, Bealor has to hide his smile behind his hand.

Or, Dunk gets two Targaryen squires and finds himself in the middle of a bizarre love triangle.
