Seconds stretched to an eternity as his footsteps grew nearer, pausing in front of her knees. Mona felt rather than saw him kneel in front of her. Hold her hands gently into his. She was just about to open her mouth and ask him to get on with it when she felt the electro tingle spread from her fingertips. The tingle washed over her abdomen, and Kuni gripped her hands tighter into his own, intertwining their fingers.
Her eyes fluttered open. Warily looking at him. Her pretty husband kneeling impassively in front of her. No expression on his face, as he searched her face for a reaction first.
That was when she knew.
“We’re going to be parents again.”

“Mona.” he cut her off. His voice an octave lower than it had been a moment ago, desire vanishing at the sight of her worry and the sound of her babbling, but exploding back into existence as he understood what she was asking.
