Summary
I have always had something of an antagonistic relationship with Edward. I didn't have siblings as a human, but I imagine my feelings for him are close to how having a brother would have felt like. His particular brand of self-loathing and self-absorption had grown on me, rather like a fungus, throughout the years. Edward in love was a different, more irritating beast entirely though. Predictably, I would have to watch him turn what should have been the happiest time in his immortal life into a tragic display of martyrdom and melodrama. What I didn't expect was just how gifted the object of his desire (obsession) would be at stumbling into the most absurd and potentially life threatening situations just by existing.

When Rhaenyra opens her door that night, there she is, mascara ruined with betrayal burning in her eyes.

Rhaenyra has been desperately in love with Alicent for the past two decades of their lives. It's a secret she planned to take to her grave, choosing to hide behind friendship and constantly convincing herself that this is enough. It's simple really. All she has to do is keep her mouth shut, be a loyal best friend, and never let her true feelings ruin what they have.
