There were times when I doubted my own story. When I wondered if my adventure through space time, my life on Earth, had all been an elaborate fabrication of imagination planted by the Ellimist to ensure my loyalty. It would have been easier to convince myself that I had not left my wife and my unmet son without so much as a goodbye.
But then there would be dreams of being human. Dreams of walking on two legs, hand in hand with my wife. Her voice, her laugh…and the pain upon waking could have only come from reality.
A routine check of ship logs reveals old records of Elfangor’s early missions rescuing and returning a pair of abducted aliens to their home. While reviewing the footage, Elfangor remembers an exchange with Loren as she was having trouble sleeping.
