Steve wanted to give Eddie a surprise that he would definitely love.
He got the idea from seeing the flying bats that Eddie had tattooed on his right arm and decided that he wanted to get them tattooed so that they would be matching. Steve would have never thought about getting a tattoo in the first place, but he built up the courage and wanted to do this.

He also made sure that Eddie slept well. Overall, he was such a huge sweetheart to Eddie - which is why Eddie thought it would be the perfect idea to go and distract him from work, luckily for him, it would turn out to be such a good idea.

Eddie looks up, smiling innocently at an amused Steve. His eyes are finally open, the hazel of his irises looking almost gold in the sunlight.
“Hello there,” Steve says, his free hand scratching at his stomach in a way that immediately draws Eddie’s gaze to it and makes his mouth water.
“Hi,” he replies, eyes still trained on the tantalizing sight as Steve uses his grip on Eddie’s hair to pull him into a slow, lazy kiss. “Mmm, I could get used to this,” Eddie mutters into his mouth, not giving Steve time to reply as he sucks his bottom lip into his mouth, nipping at it playfully.
or, steve and eddie move into their own apartment and take full advantage of their newfound privacy…

Summary
After saving Eddie from the Upside Down, Steve hides him at his house while the party concocts a plot to clear Eddie's name. What Steve doesn't expect is how much he likes hanging out with Eddie as they get to know each other.
Under the looming shadow of the Mind Flayer threatening to destroy Hawkins, Steve and Eddie realize they're each grappling with their own darkness, from Steve's father's impossible expectations to Eddie's feelings of worthlessness.
Their friendship develops into something more even as the party prepares to fight Vecna and his monsters one last time. Steve must decide if he's ready to shrug off the rigid roles assigned to him and become his own person. Eddie must learn to embrace what Steve has been trying to show him every day since nearly dying: that he's worth saving.
Author's Note: This is basically me speculating what Season 5 might look like, with Eddie surviving and from Steve's perspective. Enjoy!
