Summary
The mattress beneath him is firm but not the hard and unforgiving sling of a threadbare pad on a cot. Even without opening his eyes, Lucanis knows he’s not where he’s supposed to be.
Thus, the panic that grips him sees him shooting up from the bedding with a sharp inhale, from barely conscious to fully alert in the span of a heartbeat. He’s upright, on his knees on the bed, hands held up to defend himself while he wobbles to maintain his balance, eyes wildly darting to take in his surroundings. Shelves upon shelves of books, a spiral staircase beyond the view of a gauzy canopy hanging around a four-poster bed. A balcony that spills bright, forever sunset (or is it sunrise?) across the floor, through the gaps, lighting his surroundings.
Most notably, the face of a very startled necromancer at the landing.
Emmrich?
He’s… In Emmrich’s room?
(Or, 5 times Lucanis woke up in Emmrich's room, and the 1 time Emmrich invited him.)

Summary
The sound of footsteps jarred Rook from a half-doze. There was only one person they could belong to.
They were coming in Rook's direction, and the realisation sent a visceral chill through him. He clapped a hand over his mouth and pressed his cheek to the rough brickwork, looking through a gap in the wall that was just large enough for him to see light gleaming off of Solas' familiar gold greaves.
If Rook stops moving, Solas will find him.

Summary
The line of Solas’ mouth tightened ever so slightly. “Does lashing out at me make you feel better, Rook? Does it make it hurt less?”
Rook ground his teeth, because if he didn’t grind them he was going to do something far more embarrassing. “Yeah, it does, actually. Only one person in this room is an unmitigated disaster, and it isn’t me.”
“Then, by all means, lash out. Perhaps the catharsis of it will let you sleep tonight instead of tossing and turning in the well of your regrets.”
"What the hell do you want from me?" Rook asked, paper wrinkling under his fingers. He was damaging the book and he didn't care. "I'm doing all of this, taking all your advice, regardless of how I feel. Isn't that enough?"
After Weisshaupt, Rook is on the precipice of a breakdown. Solas decides to help.

Summary
Solas regarded him with bemusement from his chair next to the aquarium wall. “You are unwell,” he observed.
“No shit,” muttered Rook into the lounge cushions. He turned onto his side and groped for his thin, ratty blanket, pulling it over himself to ease the cold flush that had overtaken him. “Bellara and Neve are getting me a cure.”
Rook falls ill. Solas takes care of him while his team arranges treatment.

Summary
Rook’s face flared red at the suggestion he had done this deliberately. “It’s not like I knew trying to call in would bring you here. I just wanted to ask if you knew how to get out, so I can get back to cleaning up your mess.”
“My mess-?” Solas' eyes narrowed, and then, slowly, he smiled. “I will kindly impart my wisdom, in that case. The path to progress is participation.”
“Ah,” said Rook articulately. He could have guessed as much, but he’d hoped for a different solution. “So I have to...?”
“Lie with the individual at the centre of this memory,” Solas clarified.
“Right,” said Rook, then he gasped. “Wait, hang on-”
“You poked your nose into places you are not welcome, without considering the consequences, as is your wont,” said Solas, a touch sardonic. “This is the result. Are you pleased with yourself, Rook?”
Rook falls into another of Solas' memories. (Un)fortunately, so does Solas.
