“I was in the library early this morning searching for something for his birthday,” you say with a sigh. “He found me there and nearly lost his head that I had done something without telling him.” Ominis snickers.
“Of course he did,” he says under his breath as if it were obvious. “Leave it to Sebastian to show his jealousy in peculiar ways.” You raise a brow and shrug.
“But why would he be jealous?” you ask, not comprehending. Ominis levels you with a look and shakes his head.
“Because how else is Sebastian Sallow going to feel when the person he’s practically glued to does something without even telling him?” Ominis asks as though it made perfect sense.
“I don’t know, maybe treat me like a human being who has independence?” you ask as you toss your hands up carelessly.
“In his mind,” Ominis explains carefully, “that’s a sign of you pulling away from him.” He blinks, then turns and walks out into the courtyard without another word. You stand there staring at the doors Ominis just left through, confused and bewildered.
