Lohen had it all planned out.
While the rest of his good-for-nothing crew were busy making fools of themselves smacking barrels around, he'd slip out, take a shortcut through Amsvartnir, and head straight for Kipumaki to fight the real monsters.
The only minor flaw in his plan was that—unless he felt like scaling stone mountains—in order to reach Kipumaki, Lohen had to get past the Lightkeepers at their makeshift camp.
More specifically, one Lightkeeper in particular.

Summary
An Archiviste’s powers were deadly. Not just to whom they sucked the blood of, but to the bearers as well.
Noe and Vanitas weren’t too different after all, both cursed with the name of their clans. Every since he'd seen Miss Amelia's and Mikhails' memories, Noe's psyche had begun to degrade, his thoughts and identity swirling together with the memories he'd dove through. He'd been warned about the drawbacks of his family's powers, yet his desire to help pushed him forward.
But what happens when he's forced to drink from Vanitas, suffer through a lifetime of pain in minutes? Losing his grip on sanity and even sense of self, Vanitas must either save him or let Noe drown in the consequences of his powers.
Time is slipping through the hourglass.
