Prisoners from the castle would serve as examples, beheaded in the center of Symbol to prove the subjugation of the territory. There was no one left to fight back. All the omega, all the children, had either died to the smoke and flames or were awaiting their eventual executions.
He smiled, a grotesque thing. Finally! Finally it all was his!
(His bane walked through the smoke, trying not to stumble and fall with the bundle in his arms. His bane escaped the castle.)
